ASDA has made a major change to its loyalty scheme and shoppers can win up to £100 – but there’s a catch.
The retailer has launched a “Spin the Wheel” game in its loyalty app offering customers a minimum 50p prize every time they play.
There are £1, £5 and £100 prizes up for grabs too.
But there’s one big catch – shoppers have to spend a minimum £5 before they’re eligible to play.
The offer is also only running in September.
The game was launched yesterday to mark one year since Asda unveiled the Rewards loyalty scheme.
Shoppers have been taking to social media since the game launched, with some having won the £100 top prize already.
Posting a photo on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group showing their £100 prize yesterday, one said: “Spin the wheel on Asda rewards app! Happy Friday.”
Of course, you should only play the Spin the Wheel game if you were going to spend £5 anyway.
It’s not worth blowing a fiver on products you don’t need, and you might not even win more than 50p or £1.
How does the Asda Rewards app work?
Asda Rewards allows shoppers to build up “Asda Pounds” when shopping in-store or online and completing certain tasks.
These Pounds go into a “Cashpot” which you then convert into vouchers to get money off future purchases.
You can also get a 10% boost on your Pounds when buying “Star” products which are updated on the app regularly.
You can download the loyalty app on to your smart phone for free by using Google Play or the App Store.
You have to scan the app at the till every time you do a shop and the Pounds are added to your account.
