A man has shared how he’s taken Christmas decorating to a new level, covering his cupboard doors and drawers in wrapping paper.

He shared a photo on Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, writing: ‘Not sure if anyone else has done a post like mine but….. Cheap and chearful, haha.

‘Wrap your cupboard in Christmas wrapping paper for an easy decoration.’

He pointed out that you can use any type and pattern of paper you want.

Commenters were divided, with some praising his festive idea while others weren’t too keen.

One wrote: ‘I wrap up my kitchen cupboard doors, makes the kitchen really festive.’

Another commented: ‘Love that idea, I just put my tree up.’

However, other Facebook users didn’t seem to be on (cup)board.

One said: ‘I don’t get it’ while another simply wrote: ‘But why?’

If you’re a fan of this decor idea, you can opt for recyclable wrapping paper as a more environmentally friendly option.

A good way to tell if the paper is recyclable is to check it’s not thin, as that means it’s likely made of very few good-quality fibres.

Plain colours that aren’t shiny are also good to look out for, and if it passes the ‘scrunch test’ – if you crumple the paper into a ball and it stays that way – then you’re probably on to a winner.
